Ba Be & Ban Gioc Waterfall Adventure

Upon arrival at Noi Bai International Airport, our driver will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in Hanoi’s Old Quarter. Once checked in, take time to rest or explore at your own pace. In the evening, your guide will meet you for a welcome stroll around Hoan Kiem Lake and the buzzing streets of the Old Quarter. Try local delicacies such as pho, bun cha, or a cup of creamy egg coffee at a cozy street café. A perfect, relaxed introduction to Vietnam’s culture and flavors.

After breakfast, we leave the city behind and begin a scenic drive north to Ba Be National Park. Along the way, you’ll see tea plantations, rice paddies, and small towns where life flows at a slower pace. We stop for lunch at a local eatery in Thai Nguyen. By mid-afternoon, we reach Ba Be and check in at a traditional Tay ethnic homestay surrounded by rice fields and rivers. Stretch your legs with a short walk to the lake or relax on the balcony before enjoying a hearty homemade dinner with your host family.

Today, enjoy a full-day adventure exploring Ba Be Lake. After breakfast, board a wooden boat to cruise through this stunning freshwater lake, hemmed in by limestone cliffs and lush rainforest. Visit Puong Cave, where the Nang River flows through a cavern filled with bats and dramatic rock formations. Continue to Dau Dang Waterfall, and enjoy a peaceful lunch at a riverside house. In the afternoon, enjoy a short jungle walk or village hike before returning to the homestay for dinner and storytelling by the fire.

After breakfast, we say goodbye to Ba Be and travel deeper into the northern mountains. Today’s route winds through narrow valleys and quiet hamlets of the Tay, H’mong, and Nung people. Stop at a traditional house to learn about daily customs and farming life. After a scenic picnic lunch, continue through beautiful countryside to Cao Bang, arriving by late afternoon. Check into a local hotel and enjoy dinner at a cozy restaurant serving regional dishes.

After breakfast, we drive northeast to visit the majestic Ban Gioc Waterfall, located right on the Vietnam–China border. Marvel at the thundering cascades and take a bamboo raft ride close to the base for great photos. Then head to the nearby Nguom Ngao Cave, one of the most impressive caves in northern Vietnam, with its vast chambers and limestone formations. Stop by a local craft village where blacksmiths forge knives and tools using traditional techniques. Return to Cao Bang for your final night in this serene highland town.

After breakfast, we begin the return journey to Hanoi, taking a different scenic route through mountains and valleys. Stop for lunch at a countryside restaurant, and enjoy a few photo breaks along the way. Arrive in Hanoi by late afternoon, where you’ll check into your hotel and enjoy your final evening exploring the city’s vibrant street life or relaxing with a rooftop view over the Old Quarter.

Depending on your flight time, you may have time for one last stroll through the Old Quarter or a visit to a nearby temple or market. Your driver will transfer you to Noi Bai International Airport for your departure. This marks the end of your unforgettable Ba Be & Cao Bang adventure through the untouched beauty of northern Vietnam.
