Upon arrival at Siem Reap International Airport, you will be warmly greeted by our local guide and transferred to your hotel for check-in. After a short rest, begin your introduction to Siem Reap with a visit to Artisans Angkor, a handicraft workshop where young Cambodians are trained in traditional arts such as wood carving, stone carving, and silk painting. Continue to the Old Market (Psar Chas) where you can browse through local products, souvenirs, and enjoy the lively atmosphere. After breakfast at the hotel, embark on a full-day exploration of the Angkor Archaeological Park. Start with the majestic Angkor Wat, an architectural masterpiece and spiritual symbol of Cambodia. Wander through its galleries, admire the bas-reliefs, and soak in the grandeur of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Continue to Angkor Thom, the ancient royal city, where you'll discover the Bayon Temple with its iconic smiling stone faces, along with the Baphuon, Phimeanakas, and the Terraces of the Elephants and the Leper King. After lunch at a local restaurant, visit the enchanting Ta Prohm Temple, where massive tree roots intertwine with the crumbling stone walls. Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before heading out to Banteay Srei, a small yet exquisite pink sandstone temple dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. Known for its intricate carvings and well-preserved details, it is often referred to as the “Jewel of Khmer Art.” On the way back, explore the temples of the Grand Circuit, including Preah Khan, a sprawling monastic complex; Neak Pean, built on an artificial island; Ta Som with its iconic strangler fig tree; East Mebon; and the impressive Pre Rup. After lunch at a local restaurant, visit a nearby Khmer village where you will learn about traditional ways of life, including rice farming, palm sugar production, and local crafts. After breakfast and check-out, take a scenic drive to the edge of Tonlé Sap Lake, Southeast Asia’s largest freshwater lake. Board a local boat for a guided tour of a floating village, where you will witness homes, schools, and shops that rise and fall with the water levels. Learn about the unique lifestyle of the communities that live entirely on the water. Return to town and enjoy some last-minute shopping or sightseeing depending on your flight time.
